The digital embryo model was digitally sectioned in the most anterior (25%), the central (50%) and the most posterior position (75%) along the A-P, the L-R and the V-D body axis (from left to right). As an example, the cells in the embryo at the developmental stage of 4-, 172- and 345-cell were color coded randomly for visualization. The central section plane was selected for the time-course correlative analysis of gene expression patterns and embryo tissue anatomy.
